Colton Lee McMillian, 9, of Bangs passed from this life Thursday, November 28, 2019.

A visitation for Colton will be from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Monday, December 2, 2019 at Heartland Funeral Home.

Funeral Service will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, December 3, 2019 in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel with a private burial for family to follow.

Colton was born on Halloween, October 31, 2010 to Ashlea McMillian in Brownwood.  He attended the 3rd grade at JB Stephens Elementary school in Bangs where he loved to read books, make friends and play with his brother and cousins.  Some say he was a genius and Colton believed he was too.  He played baseball with the Eastern Challenger League and had a passion for the game.  Colton loved sharks, fish and all kinds of marine life.  He was quite the fisherman as well.  Colton lived life as though it was at his fingertips and everyone loved him so much that they were wrapped around his little finger as well.  His uncle Brandon wanted to put a train horn on his wheelchair so everyone would hear him racing around.  He was a tough little boy who took the adversity in his life head on while being spoiled by everyone.  He left an impression with everyone he met often times visiting with many people in a store and he knew them all as good friends, leaving his mother and grandparents in question, “how do you know all these people?”  Colton had a lot of friends because he was a good friend to everyone.  He was surrounded by a large family that was full of support and love, Colton returned that love and shared it with everyone he met.

Colton is survived by his mom & dad, Ashlea McMillian and Gary West; brother, Taylor Boatright; grandparents, Tony and Jennifer Shook of Brownwood, Dewight and Holly McMillian of Bangs; great grandparents, Ralph and Kathy Stevens of Shiner; great grandmother, Carleen Modawell of Blanket; aunt, Miranda Pridgen of Auburn, AL; Uncles, Brandon and wife Deborah McMillian of Bangs, Tyler and wife Jenny McMillian of San Antonio; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

The family would like to extend a special than you to Dr. Morris and his staff, Jessica Wilson and Dakota Mabee with Angels of Care, all of the many doctors at Cook Children’s Medical Center for their special care, attention and love shown to Colton and the family.

Condolences, tributes and memorials can be shared with the family at www.heartlandfuneralhome.net
