The Brownwood Area Community Garden is hosting its “Lunch for a Cause” on November 21, 2019 from 10:00am to 2:00pm at 509 W. Commerce St. (Firestone).

You can purchase a Pulled Pork Sandwich, Chips, Cookie, and a Drink prepared by Chipster’s Grill for $9.  (pickles and onions are optional)

Delivery available with a minimum order of 3 meals.  Pre-Orders are recommended.

Money raised will go towards completing the Community Garden’s Revitalization Project where the garden has undergone a facelift in replacing the over 10 year old beds.  They have all been rebuilt with new nutrient rich soils, crushed granite, & handicap accessible ramps and walkways.   There are 54 beds in the Community Garden with roughly half of them dedicated pantry beds for the purpose of growing food for local hungry.  The Garden is established primarily for the purpose of providing fresh, naturally grown produce to area food pantries to feed the hungry.  They give seasonal fresh fruits and vegetables to the Good Samaritan Food Pantry, The Salvation Army, the Arc and many others in Brown County.

The Garden’s secondary purpose is to provide space for residents who wish to garden according to natural methods; to provide a venue for education on sustainable gardening practices; and to provide employment and on-the-job training opportunities for low-income workers.

The cost to lease a bed at the Community Garden is:

$50 per month

$25 per month for Military and Gov’t housing

Price includes everything needed (besides the labor) to grow a garden: fertilizer, dirt, seeds, etc.

For More information about the Lunch or general information visit:

The Community Garden’s Facebook page

Or Call 325-430-3894

The Brownwood Area Community Garden is located at 514 Dublin St in Brownwood, Texas.
