Brownwood News – Numerous Coleman and Taylor County fire departments battled a grass fire in northwest Coleman County Tuesday night, not far from the town of Novice.

According to the Coleman Fire Department, the fire was secured late last night.  Texas Forest Service dozers were assisting with building a containment line around the fire. Current estimates have the fire at just over 200 acres.  Firefighters also battled against gusty north wind which was driving the fire.

Units will be checking on the fire over the next few days looking for hot spots.
