Gyeten “Gye” Goodwin

goodwin_GyeGraveside Services for Gyeten “Gye” Goodwin, age 76, of Lake Brownwood, Texas will be held 10:30 A.M. Monday at the Coleman City Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Sunday at the Heartland Funeral Home. He passed away Saturday, October 16, 2010 at Brownwood Regional Medical Center.

Gyeten Darrell Goodwin was born on March 30, 1934 in Santa Anna, Texas to Albert and Thelma Scott Goodwin. He was a 1952 graduate of Coleman High School and married Ruby Harris on June 26, 1955 at her parents home in Brown County. After having a construction business for several years in Coleman he went to work for the United States Forest Service in 1966. This required him and his family to relocate to several different places. After 28 years of service her retired from the forest service in Vernal, Utah. He returned to the Brownwood area in 1994 and attended the First Baptist Church in Brownwood.
Survivors:

Wife of 55 years Ruby Goodwin of Lake Brownwood, Texas

Son: Richard Goodwin and wife Debra of Bastrop, Texas

Daughter: Roberta Walker and husband Gaylon of Buna, Texas

Granddaughter: Caitlyn Goodwin of Bastrop, Texas

Grandson: Jordan Walker of Buna, Texas

Brother: J.G. Goodwin and wife Carlene of Long Beach California.

Preceded in death by his parents, one brother Charles Goodwin and his wife’s parents Cecil and Lois Harris.
