Subject Attempts to Pass Check Fraudulently at Local Bank

Brownwood News – The following investigations were handled by the Brownwood Police Department and included in the Police Report issued on Friday, June 21, 2019.

On 6/20/2019, at approximately 0900 hours, Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1700 block of Main Boulevard for an agency assist. Brownwood made contact with a Brown County Constable and report was made for drug possession.

On June 20, 0219, an Officer responded to a bank on the North side of Brownwood, 100 block of Carnegie, in reference to a subject attempting to pass a check fraudulently.  A report has been generated and the case is pending further investigation.

On 6/20/2019, at 1800 hours, Officers initiated a pedestrian stop in the 2400 block of Temple Ave.  A report was taken for domestic violence to be passed on for further investigation.

On Thursday, June 20, 2019, at approximately 2100 hours, an Officer of the Brownwood Police Department was advised by Communications of a call which could be handled by a phone call.  The officer was told that a Theft had occurred in the 400 block of E. Commerce, and the caller was back at his residence in Abilene Texas. A report was sent for investigation.

On 6-21-19, at approximately 0046 hrs, a Brownwood Police officer was dispatched to the police department (1050 W Commerce St) in reference to terroristic threat. Communications indicated that the complainant only wanted a phone call from an officer. During the phone call, officers learned that the complainant was actively involved in a domestic disturbance at a south Brownwood residence in the 2500 block of Vine. Officers arrived at the location of the disturbance and spoke with the involved parties. An active report was generated.
