Larry Lee Kirkland, 73

Larry Lee Kirkland, 73, of Early, passed away Tuesday June 11, 2019. A memorial service, under the directions of Heartland Funeral Home, will be held 3 p.m. Saturday June 22, 2019 in the Heartland Chapel.

Larry was born in Winfield, Kansas, to Cecil W and Gladys Elaine (Dickerson) Kirkland. He attended and graduated from Robert E. Lee High School, then received an Associate’s degree from Lee College and later a Bachelor’s of Business from the University of Houston. Larry served in the United States Air Force during 1965-1969. He worked in sales for Exxon & British Petroleum before retiring. He later worked at the State School in Brownwood and Walmart. Larry was a member and attended the Central Baptist Church of Christ and St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, both in Baytown where he was active in their activities. He enjoyed country living, riding horses, playing golf, bowling, reading, Early Longhorn’s programs, sports, watching and helping his children grow, watching movies – especially westerns.

Larry is survived by Tyler Kirkland (son), Lauren Kirkland (daughter) and wife De’Sha, Christopher Kirkland (son) and wife Kelly, Scott Kirkland (Son) and wife Jessica; Jo Ann (sister) and Billy Locke; grandchildren, Cullen Kirkland and Clayton Kirkland. He was preceded in death by parents, Cecil & Elaine Kirkland, brother, John Lee Kirkland
