landers_maxineFuneral services for Maxine “Mackie” Landers, age 72, of Brookesmith, Texas will be held at 4:30 PM Thursday in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Rocky Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 – 8 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home. She passed away Friday, September 17, 2010 at the Kindred Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas

Maxine was born on December 19, 1937 in Plantersville, Alabama to David and Lela Smith Sansom the 10th of 11 children. On May 15, 1955 she married Wayne Landers of Brownwood in Fort Worth, Texas. They lived in Brownwood a short time prior to moving to Fort Worth where they lived for twenty years. For the past thirty five years they have lived in the Brownwood area. Maxine has worked at Walmart as a door greeter for the past fifteen years and loved her job and the friends she met. She had attended the Early First Baptist Church. She loved spending time with her children grandchildren, planting flowers and bird watching.

Husband of 55 years Wayne Landers of Brookesmith, Texas
Daughter: Joann Crow and husband Warren of Highland Village, Tx

Son: Steve Landers and wife Cheryl of Brookesmith, Texas
Sister: Tommie Blackmon of Fort Worth, Texas
Brothers: David Sansom, Jr. of Brownwood, Texas
Clyde Sansom of Thorsby, Alabama
Grandchildren: Sara Landers of Baytown, Texas
Michale Landers of Baytown, Texas
Tiffany Mize of Highland Village, Texas
Bryan Mize of Denton, Texas
Corbin Elison of Brookesmith, Texas
Brian Crow of Flower Mound, Texas
Chris Crow of Lewisville, Texas
Dusty Crow of Justin, Texas

Preceded in death by her parents David and Lela Sansom one sister Jessie Curry and six brothers Bill, L.D., Herman, Raymond, Buck and Charles Sansom.
