BFD: Fire & Rescue Reports 9/13

BFDlogoSmallReports released for the week of September 5th through September 11th, 2010 from Brownwood Fire Department indicate response to 24 medical emergencies, 4 motor vehicle accidents, 2 false alarms, and 3 fire calls (2 electrical problems & 1 vehicle fire).

Calls of interest included:

Sunday, September 5

*12:43am-1000 block of W. Commerce, incident was determined to be a smoke scare (odor of smoke).  Investigation found no fire.

*12:47am-Motor Vehicle Accident 1500 block of 6th Street.  Vehicle left the scene before BFD arrived; units cleared the scene and returned to station.

*12:34pm-Motor Vehicle Accident Lipscomb Street involving two vehicles and a trailer.  Trailer transporting ATVs was struck by a vehicle causing the ATVs to be thrown from the trailer.  No injuries were reported.

Monday, September 6

*4:48pm-smell of smoke 1500 block of Dublin.  After investigating with thermal camera, nothing was found.

Tuesday, September 7

*7:49am-Vehicle Fire in the 2300 block of Magnolia.  Fire was out upon BFD’s arrival.

Wednesday, September 8

* 2:55pm-Motor Vehicle Accident at the intersection of Avenue K and Austin involving two vehicles with no injuries.

Thursday, September 9

*3:45pm-Contruction/Landfill fire in the 300 block of Greenleaf.  Illegal burn was extinguished and city code was enforced with a warning.

Friday, September 10

*10:21am- Motor Vehicle Accident in the 200 block of US Hwy 377 involving two vehicles, injuries that sent one person to the hospital (transported by Guardian EMS).

Saturday, September 11

*6:47pm-BFD investigated a report of a transformer at Mayes Street & Melwood that was struck by lightning.

*6:50pm-BFD investigated a report of a transformer at 511 W. Baker Street that was struck by lightning.
