Brownwood News – The 2018 Early, Texas Showcase presented by Bruner Auto Group and Big County Chevy Dealers is just 50 days away. Event coordinators are looking to recruit volunteers to help with the three day extravaganza as well as inviting locals to sign up to perform on the Andy’s Pest Troopers Day Stage.

To sign up as a volunteer online: visitearlytexas.com/itinerary/early-texas-showcase-volunteers-2018. Organizers will order t-shirts by August 10th.

The Early, Texas Showcase is also looking for performers for the Andy’s Pest Troopers Day Stage. Anyone who has a talent can perform, it doesn’t have to be musical, as long as it’s suitable for all ages. just has to be clean family fun. Here is link to sign up for the day stage: visitearlytexas.com/itinerary/andys-pest-troopers-karaoke-day-stage.

Interested persons can also sign up to perform or volunteer (or both) on the Visit Early Texas Facebook Page or call: 325-649-9300 ext. 2, or stop by the Visit Early Texas office at 104 E. Industrial Drive, in Early.

What has been traditionally known as Early Pioneer Days since its conception in 2012 is ushering in a name change for the 2018 festival.

“Last year we had a very successful year,” Denise Hudson with the Early Convention and Visitor’s Bureau said. “We decided this year we would do a name change, because Pioneer Days sounds like a horse-drawn wagon event. So we decided on the Early, Texas Showcase where we plan to showcase Early, Brownwood, Brown County.”

Additional changes this year include a Chili Cookoff, Margarita-Bloody-Mary-Hot-Sauce contest, and a church service on Sunday.

Early, Texas Showcase 2018 will still feature all the old favorites with the Ryan Construction Firework Show, carnival, the United Supermarket Food Court, craft vendors, the horseshoe/washer tournament, the Pioneer Man and Woman competition, and more.

Texas Country Artist Roger Creager was revealed as the headliner for the upcoming Early, Texas Showcase (formerly known as Early Pioneer Days) to be held September 13th-16th at the Early City Park and Baseball Fields. Performing during the concert will also be Sam Riggs.

Roger Creager was introduced to Texas Country Music fans with his 1998 album, Having Fun All Wrong, featuring signature tracks “The Everclear Song” and “Fun All Wrong.” Over the next decade and a half, the Corpus Christi native released four more studio albums and one live collection with crowd favorites like “Long Way to Mexico,” “Things Look Good Around Here” and “I’m From the Beer Joint.”

Fan favorite Sam Riggs is a “wild live performer,” with an enthusiastic style. Riggs’ music is Texas Red Dirt with an infusion of rock and classic country sounds. To date Sam Riggs has racked up more than 2.2 million streams on Spotify and over 600,000 views on YouTube.
