Edna Mae Anderson

Edna Mae Anderson, was born on Dec 5, 1928 in Peeltown, TX, located in Kaufman County.  To her father Eddie Anderson and her mother Girtha Lee Pruitt Anderson Story.She married Ira Morris in 1968, they were married 44 years until his death in 2012.

Edna Mae graduated from Burnett High School in 1946 in Terrell, TX. Immediately following high school she attended Phyliss Business School, in Dallas, TX.  Naturally driven to succeed, approximately twenty years later,she returned to nursing school to obtain her Licensed Vocational Nursing degree (LVN) in 1965.

Edna Mae had five children; 4 boys and 1 girl.  Preceded in death, Eddie Lee Ephraim and Harold Dwayne Ephraim.  She is survived by her three children John Ephraim III, Kenny Ephraim, and Mary O.Blake(Bishop Aaron Blake).  She lives to honor her legacy her children; Jimmy, Kenny, Mary, Kenneth, and Marie, 15 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren.

Edna Mae received the Lord in 1933 (Zion Traveler’s Baptist Church), and was a faithful member of Mount Zion Baptist Church in Brownwood, TX.  After her retirement, she moved back to Peeltown, TX, and became an active member of Zion Traveler’s Baptist Church.  She was also an active member and volunteer of her community.

We were blessed to learn many valuable lessons from Edna during her 89 years, among them:  Keep God first, Treat others with love and respect, Don’t let setbacks or loses keep you from pursuing your dreams, Each day should be filled with living, I am better today than I was yesterday.

A Prayer Service and visitation will be held on Friday, July 6, 2018, from 5:00- 7:00 p.m., at Bold Pilgrim Baptist Church, Kaufman, Texas.

Homegoing Celebration in memory of Edna will be held on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at 11:00 a.m., at First Assembly of God located at 3101 South Houston St. Kaufman, TX 75142. Interment will follow in the family plot at New Oakwood Cemetery- West End St, Terrell, TX 75160. Those who so desire may make memorial donations in memory of Edna Mae Morris in lieu of flowers may do so to Freedom Church, 2985 TX-360, Grand Prairie, Texas 75052.  Services entrusted to Brownwood Funeral Home.  Online Condolences may be made at www.brownwoodfuneralhome.net
