The release reads as follows:

On Friday, May 11th, the Early Police Department arrested 37-year-old Ricky James Delarosa of Brownwood on charges of Injury to a child and Assault family violence-Occlusion (strangulation). The investigation began but not enough information was known about the incident at the time. CPS was notified and an interview with the Child Advocacy Center was set up for Friday morning. On Friday once the interview was completed Detective Brandon McMillian gained enough evidence from the child and the mother (31-year-old female victim) to present a complaint to the justice of the peace for a warrant.

The information included facts that the 2-year-old child had been repeatedly assaulted numerous times over the past several weeks and the mother, 31-year-old female had also been repeatedly assaulted and strangled where the suspect held his hands around the victim’s neck until she began to pass out.

A warrant was issued for Ricky Delarosa for Injury to a child and Assault with injury by Occlusion- family violence.
