A woman with a life long dream is seeing her hard work and desire come to fruition this weekend as Arrow’s & Oaks opens its doors  this Saturday in South Brownwood.

[adrotate group=”8″]

Lark Terry, who has “always had an interest in natural skin care”, is opening her storefront location on Indian Creek Dr this weekend, after selling her home made soaps and lotions through the Artisan Market and from her home for the last few years.

Terry is involved completely from the first step to the final sale. The family raises the milk goats on their property, milks them themselves, and creates each and every scented bar and bottle of lotion, along with everything else on the shelves.

A friend going on an extended vacation got the couple into milking goats by coincidence. After they had some left over milk, Terry decided to make her first bar of goat milk soap, which they still have a few bars of today.

Lark’s husband Aaron said having milk goats was an unexpected blessing. “We didn’t have to buy any milk at all, like forever. We were using it for everything. Everything we made that usually you use milk for.” Aaron continues “When he took her back we were getting low on milk and we were like ‘we need one!’”

There is nothing for sale in Arrows & Oaks that comes ready made, even the bath salts and bath bombs are created by had.

The Terry’s are so invested in their product, they “wanted to reach out to other people who were as invested as (they) were.” This is why the couple source their Shea Butter directly from the villages in Ghana, Africa that harvest and produce it by hand. A video on a screen in the store details the process.

The Grand opening will be Saturday the 12th from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 1510 Indian Creek Dr, with regular operating hours Thursday through Saturday from 10 to 4.

The store offers, lotions, soaps, and other skin care products for not only women, but they have a range of products for men as well. The line includes beard oil, soap, lotion, and they are working on mustache wax and beard balms as well.
