Brownwood News – The week of March 20-22, students at Woodland Heights Elementary jumped all over heart disease and stroke by participating in Jump Rope for Heart.  The students raised more than $10,000 for the American Heart Association, which funds research, programs and education to fight heart disease.  Emphasis is placed on healthy choices such as limiting salt and sugar, saying no to tobacco products, and getting 60 minutes of exercise daily.

Coach Morelock, the event coordinator, said she is “always proud of the commitment and support of the students and the community.  Our students will be healthier adults as a result of the JRFH program.”

A drawing was held for bicycles at the end of the event. Students, Jaxon Way and Lyndi Biasiolli (pictured at top), were the winners.
