UPDATE: Brownwood ISD Fall Registration & Open House Information

bisdBrownwood ISD announced the beginning formalities of back to school:  Registration times and Meet the Teacher Nights for the upcoming school year.

Students will receive their new schedules, school supply lists, and middle school athletes will be issued their equipment for football and volleyball.

The following information will help returning and new students alike know what to expect for this year.

Documents to Bring to Registration:

  • *Birth Certificate of Student
  • *Social Security Card (not just the number) of Student
  • *Shot record
  • *Proof of Residency (utility bill with physical address if you live in Brownwood)
  • *Driver License of Parent/Guardian that is enrolling Student (if you are a guardian please bring supporting papers).
  • Transfer Students – if you have withdrawal information, bring it with you.

 

High School – Registration

Seniors– Wednesday, August 11th – 8:30 a.m.-11:00 a.m.

Juniors– Thursday, August 12th – 8:30 a.m.—11:00 a.m.

Sophomores– Friday, August 13th –8:30 a.m.—11:00 a.m.

New students – to the district will come on the same above dates (Aug. 11 – 13th) from 1:00-3:00 p.m.

Freshman and New Student/Parent Orientation – Thursday, August 19, at 6:30 p.m. in the Brownwood High School Auditorium.  Now expaned to include the following Laptop Meeting.

**Laptop Meeting:

August 19, 6:30pm in the BHS Auditorium

Who should attend:

  • Freshmen and Parents
  • New Students to BHS (any grade) and Parents

Schedules will be released.  Student laptops will be discussed, but not issued. User fees will be discussed and collected.

Laptop User Fees – Cash, Money Order or Cashier’s Checks Only:
$50 Fee or $30 Fee – If parents complete a Free & Reduced Lunch Form and submit it, the fee is $30.  (Regardless of qualification of Free and Reduced Lunch.).

Brownwood Accelerated High School

Schedule Pick up – Wednesday, Aug. 11 – Friday, Aug. 13 from 8:30am – 3:00pm

8th Grade Students, BAHS and BHS Students & Parent Laptop Meeting will be held on
Saturday, Aug. 21, at 9:00am at the  Brownwood High School Auditorium.

Who is encouraged to attend:

  • 8th Graders, if they did not attend the spring meeting.
  • Accelerated High School Students & Parents
  • Any other High School Student & Parents that missed the Laptop Meeting on Aug. 19th.

Student laptops will be discussed, but not issued. User fees will be discussed and collected. (With the exception of 8th graders; fees will be collected from Aug. 24-27, at the Middle School.)

Brownwood Middle School:

Registration for new students – Wednesday, August 11th, from 8:30AM-3:30PM in the middle school office.  The office will be closed for lunch from 11:30AM-12:30PM.  This registration is only for students who are new to Brownwood Middle School.  Students who last year attended the 6th grade at Brownwood Intermediate School or the 7th grade at Brownwood Middle School do not need to register because they were registered last spring.

8th Grade Students, BAHS and BHS Students & Parent Laptop Meeting will be held on
Saturday, Aug. 21, at 9:00am at the  Brownwood High School Auditorium.

Schedules & Equipment Pickup – All 7th and 8th grade BMS students, new and returning, may pick up class schedules at the middle school cafeteria on Friday, August 20th.  This will be held in conjunction with equipment distribution for football and volleyball players.  The schedule for this distribution will be as follows:

1:00-2:30PM             8th graders pick up schedules and athletic equipment

2:30-4:00PM             7th graders pick up schedules and athletic equipment

There will also be a brief meeting at 4:00PM on Friday, Aug. 20, for all library and office workers and their parents in the library.

The first day of classes will be Monday, 8/23/10.  All students will first meet in Lehrer Gym for a welcome and brief orientation.  The first bell rings at 8:04AM.

Brownwood Intermediate School:

Registration – Wednesday, August 11th from 8:30 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
New students only need to register.

Open House – Thursday, August 19th, from 6:15-7:15pm.

Not a come and go event.  Meet in the cafeteria for principal’s welcome.

 

Coggin Elementary:

Registration for New Students – Wednesday, August 11th from 8:30 a.m.-3:00 p.m.

Meet the Teacher Night – Thursday, August 19th, 5:30-6:30pm.  Not a come and go event.  Assemble in the Auditorium at 5:30pm

 

Northwest:

Registration (Requested for ALL students) – Wednesday, August 11th from 8:30 a.m.-3:00 p.m.

Meet the Teacher – Friday, August 20th, 11am-1pm

 

Woodland Heights:

Registration for New Students – Wednesday, August 11th from 8:30 a.m.-3:00 p.m.

Meet the Teacher – Friday, Aug. 20 from 5:30 – 6:30pm

 

East Elementary:

Registration for New Students – Wednesday, August 11th from 8:30 a.m.-3:00 p.m.

Meet the Teacher – Sunday, Aug. 22 from 2:30 – 4:00pm
