Betty Jean Whitson, age 75, of Brownwood died Monday morning at the Brownwood Senior Care Center.

She was born February 20, 1943 in Brownwood the daughter of the late James Clemons Adams and Marcella Mae Mills Adams.  She graduated from Brownwood High School and later worked as a secretary for Weatherby Ford and as a waitress for Gomez’s restaurant, The Dairy Maid, and Mary’s Café.  She also was a hairdresser for several years.  She was a Baptist.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 2 PM Wednesday at Cedar Point Cemetery with Pastor Brian Hall officiating.  Burial will follow under the direction of Davis-Morris Funeral Home.

Memorials are requested to be made to the American Cancer Society.
