Brownwood News – Brown County Sheriff’s Office reports released Tuesday, January 23, 2018. All arrestees are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Blotter information compiled from local law enforcement reports and jail records. If charges are dismissed or the accused is found not guilty, people listed here can contact Brownwood News and provide us with documentation. Wednesday, January 17, 2018

  • Sergeant Bastardo met with a road crew manager at the intersection of Waco St. and FM 2125. This was in regards to illegal dumping.  Six tires had been dumped.  A report was taken and there are no suspects in this case.

January 19, 2018

  • Deputy Mathis was informed of a vehicle with expired registration leaving an area that is known for narcotics. The vehicle was described as a black 2 door passenger car. Deputy Mathis observed a vehicle traveling north bound on north HWY 279, ran the license plate through dispatch and was informed it expired January of 2017. Deputy Mathis initiated a traffic stop at the intersection of HWY 279 and FM 1850.
  • Deputy Tidwell spoke with a complainant, via telephone, in reference to a violation of a Protective Order. A suspect was named.
  • At 4:29 p.m. Deputy Bastardo was dispatched to 1050 W Commerce in regards to forgery. Upon arrival, contact was made with the complainant. Complainant stated their employee,  altered a pay check. A report was taken.
  • Deputy Tidwell, observed an abandoned vehicle in the 1300 block of HWY 67.  The vehicle was red-tagged, but the owner did not retrieve the vehicle within the required time.  The vehicle was towed and taken to Welch Brother’s Towing for storage.

January 20, 2018

  • At 1:27 p.m. Deputy Bastardo was dispatched to Cliff Dr in Brownwood. In regards to a burglary, not in progress. Upon arrival, I made contact with the complainant, who stated an unknown individual had been staying at the residence and had stolen some items. A report was taken.
  • Deputy Burke was dispatched to Brown County Jail in reference to an assault with injuries between several inmates.  The inmates were separated and 2 of the victims were transported to BRMC ER to treat minor injuries.  A report will follow.
  • At 7:51 p.m. Deputy Rodriguez, was dispatched to a fire call, which was possibly started by fireworks, on CR 320 in Blanket, TX 76432. A report was made.

January 21, 2018

  • At 2:36 p.m. Deputy Bastardo was dispatched to Crocket Dr. in Brownwood, TX, Brownwood Regional Medical Center in regards to a dog bite. Upon arrival, the complainant stated while petting her neighbor’s, dog, the dog bit her. A report was taken
