Tommy Wayne Farris, (59), of Weatherford, formerly of Brownwood,  went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 12, 2018 after passing unexpectedly.  Tommy was born in Fort Worth, Texas on July 28, 1958. He graduated from Lake Worth High School.  Tommy served in the U.S. Army as an aircraft fueler from 1984 to 1988. He was a long time resident of Brownwood where he worked for the Bob Thornhill Trucking Company. Those closest to Tommy knew he had a smart sense of humor, he enjoyed making the rounds looking for treasures at his “gettin place”, and spending time with Gypsie who are the true love of his life.

Tommy will be sadly missed by his family, Dianna Farris, the mother of his children, his daughter Brenda Farris and spouse, Elliot of Godley, Texas and his daughter Crystal Farris, of Big Spring, Texas, his sister Barbara Vines and spouse, Ron of The Colony Texas, sister Brenda Morgan and spouse Parrish of Dayton Ohio, brother Clay Wood and spouse Jackie of Osborne Kansas, brother Scott Lucas and spouse Jenny, of Spokane, Washington, and brother James Box of Brownwood, Texas.

Tommy also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Iris, Ben, Olivia, Thomas, Brianna, Mackenzie and Elliot Jr.

Tommy was preceded in death by his parents Bobbie and Leonard Box, his sister, Becky Covington, and his side-kick, Bullett.

There will be a visitation for Tommy’s family and friends on Thursday, January 18, 2018 from 12:00-2:00 PM at Heartland Funeral Home.  Tommy will be interred in the Santa Anna Cemetery at 3:00 PM on Thursday.

Because Tommy always had a special relationship with Brownwood Police Department, the family requests that in lieu of flowers, donation be made to Brownwood Municipal Police Association, c/o Fred Bastardo, 1050 West Commerce, Brownwood, Texas 76801.

Condolences, memories and tributes can be offered to the family online at heartlandfuneralhome.net
