Belen Martinez, age 14, of Brownwood passed away Sunday, July 16, 2017.

Funeral Services for Belen will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 28, 2017, at Blaylock Funeral Home Chapel with Jesse Martinez officiating; burial will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Blaylock Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.

Belen was the daughter of Tomas and Margarita Martinez, born on November 1, 2002 in Brownwood. Belen would have been a freshman this school year at Brownwood High School. She attended church at Christ Is The Answer in Bangs. One of her many talents was her artistic abilities, she loved drawing. Belen also enjoyed playing tennis and riding horses. She loved her dogs and being with her family.

Belen is survived by her parents, Tomas and Margarita Martinez; siblings, Tomas Martinez, Jr. of Austin, Agapo Martinez of Austin, Roy Martinez of Austin, Randy Martinez of Austin, Christian Martinez of Austin, and Erika Martinez of Brownwood; paternal grandfather, Jose Martinez of Brownwood; maternal grandmother, Igancia Arreola Jaquez of Mexico; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Amalia Martinez; aunt, Eva Villalpondo; and uncle, Agapo Martinez.
