Funeral Services for Greg Philen, age 53, of Dallas formerly of Brownwood will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 21, 2017, at Blaylock Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Tim Skaggs officiating; burial will follow at San Saba Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday evening from 5-7 p.m. at Blaylock Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.

Greg passed away Monday, May 15, 2017 in Dallas due to natural causes.

Gregory Don Philen was born on March 13, 1964, to William and Linda (Simpson) Philen in Brady, Texas. He graduated from Brownwood High and later worked from BISD for many years. He was a very talented carpenter.

He was a Christian, he loved the Lord. He also loved fishing and enjoyed spending time with his family at family gatherings.

Greg is survived by his parents, Bill and Linda Philen of Brownwood; brother, Randy Philen of Santa Anna; sister, Penny Lawson of Brownwood; niece and nephew, Haley and Josh Lawson; aunt, Frankie Shelton of Benbrook. He is also survived by numerous other relatives and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Ronny Philen; grandparents, Frank and Opal Simpson, and Letha Philen; and uncles, Jimmy Simpson and Lonny Shelton.

Memorials can be made to a charity of one’s choice or to Corrine T. Smith Animal Clinic. Online condolences for the family are welcome at www.blaylockfuneralhome.com.
