Jose de Jesus Cuellar

Jose de Jesus Cuellar age 84 of Brownwood, Texas passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on May 2, 2017.  A visitation will be held at Davis Morris Funeral Home on Thursday, May 4 at 6 p.m. followed by a rosary at 7p.m.  A Celebration of Life Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 5, at St. Mary’s Queen of Peace Catholic Church with Father Francis Njoku officiating.  Interment will follow at the Greenleaf Cemetery.

Jesus Cuellar, the oldest of 5, was born in San Matias Coahuila Mexico to Abelardo Cuellar and Paula Menchaca Cuellar on January 14, 1933. His life work was in ranches and dairies.  He worked 45 years for Gore Dairy.  He had an industrious spirit and believed in a good work ethic.  He was never late to work a day in his life.  Cuellar had a generous heart and always wanted to help those with a necessity because he knew what it was like to be in need.

He leaves behind his ex-wife Diamantina Cuellar Constancio and 6 children, son Felipe Tobias and wife Nancy Tobias from Comanche, Texas; son Jesus Cuellar Jr. also from Comanche, Texas; daughter Rosa Cuellar Juarez and husband Benito Juarez from Houston, Texas; son Abel Cuellar and wife Lisa Cuellar from Round Rock, Texas; daughter Ismelda Ozuna and husband Jose Ozuna from Brownwood, Texas, and daughter Diamantina Cuellar also from Brownwood, Texas.  Also, left to cherish his memory are his brother Rogelio Menchaca from Brady, Texas, eighteen grandchildren, twenty-nine great grandchildren, many cousins, nieces, nephews and close friends.

Jesus Cuellar was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Elida and Asidalia, a brother, Lupe Cuellar, and his daughter Maria Sandoval.
