Mary Lou Vara

Mary Lou Vara, age 69, of Brownwood formerly of Brady passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2017, at Brownwood Regional Medical Center.

Memorial Services for Mary will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 17, 2017, at Blaylock Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon John Specht officiating; private interment at a later date. No visitation. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home.

Mary was born on February 12, 1948, to Jesus Sr and Tomasa (Lira) Robles in Brady. She was a healthcare giver for many years throughout Brown and McCulloch County. She attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She loved reading, gardening, and spending time with her grandkids.

Mary is survived by her sons, John Duane Vara of Brady, Gary Allen Vara and wife Sandra of Brownwood, Eric James Vara and wife Zelma of Round Rock; daughter, Amanda Lizcet Saucedo of Round Rock; grandchildren, LaFonda Torres, Judy Garces, Michael Vega, LaTrisha Vara, Connor Vara, Caydon Vara, Ryan Vara, and Ava Vara; 6 great-grandchildren; and brother, Jesse Robles, Jr of Brownwood. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, John Vara; brother, Joe Robles; and sister, Mary Helen Cecelones.

Memorial can be made to American Cancer Society in her honor. Online condolences for the family are welcome at www.blaylockfuneralhome.com.
