Ruth Margene Cox, age 83, of Coupland, formerly of Bangs, passed peacefully in her home on Friday, January 27, 2017.  Her husband, Johnnie, daughter Loma, and Bernie were by her side when she passed.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Ruth Kent, her sister, Twana McDonald, brother-in-law Tommy McDonald, and brother-in-law Wilbourn Graves.
Margene was a homemaker who dedicated her adult life to caring for her husband, raising their daughter and making their house a home.  She sewed for the public and made many people happy with her labor of love.  She taught kindergarten at First Baptist Church of Bangs and all of the kids adored her.  She babysat Jeffrey and Jenna Fincher for years and they called her Grandma.  Margene always had a way with children and found her calling by loving and caring for so many through the years, including her nieces and nephews, whom she loved as her own.
Survivors include her husband, Johnnie Cox, married 64 years, her daughter, Loma Cox, sister, Shirley Graves, sister, Sherry Folkner and husband Bob, brother, Terry Kent and wife Julie, two grandsons, Dustin and Renden Homer, granddaughters, Raechel and Erika Smith, Nicole Ortega, Samantha and Gabrielle Usbelger and many nieces and nephews.  Margene was a part of the Cox family for 64 years.  She loved each one of them as she loved her own.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Bangs or to the American Cancer Society.  Condolences can be left in Margene’s online guestbook at heartlandfuneralhome.net
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Scott & White Hospice for the amazing care they provided in Margene’s final months.  The support of family and friends during her final months were appreciated as well.  A special thanks goes to Bob and Sherry Folkner and Ron and Jean Young.
There will be a viewing at Heartland Funeral Home in Early on Sunday evening from 5:00 until 7:00.  Services will be held at First Baptist Church of Bangs on Monday at 10:00 AM.  Burial will follow in the Bangs Cemetery.
The legacy she leaves behind is her unwavering faithfulness to god, her husband, her family and friends.  Her children rise up and call her blessed, her husband also, and he praises her…. Proverbs 31:28
