obitpicThomas E. Casswell, Jr. 62 of Brownwood passed away at his home December 7, 2016 after a long battle with cancer.
Tom was born in San Antonio, TX April 6, 1954 to Mary and Thomas Casswell, Sr. Over time, his mother Mary married Wesley Wauer. Wes was Tom’s “Daddy”. Tom joined the U.S. Army where he finished his education and served our country for 15 years. Tom was a helicopter pilot and a Chief Warrant Officer 3. One of his main jobs was to fly the generals where they were going. He was General Colin Powell’s pilot. Tom did several tours in Germany and travelled extensively in other countries.
Tom loved hunting, salt water fishing, and hunting Indian artifacts and arrowheads. He could find arrowheads and fossils everywhere. Our beloved Tom was a funny, kind hearted cowboy that fought hard and loved deep. He never failed to put a smile on your face. He fought the battle of his life with cancer.
Tom was preceded in death by both parents and his sister Molly Beth Moss. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Cindy Casswell of Brownwood, daughter, Terrah Burton of Denver, Colorado, sons “Taus” Thomas Austin Casswell and wife Sarah of Tacoma, Washington, Wesley Borden Casswell of Denver, Colorado, and Willie Kemp Casswell of Fraizer Park, California. Three grandchildren, Iris, Cole, and Mae Casswell. Also, nieces Zoie, Olivia, and nephews Ian, Justin, and Donivan and a host of extended family and many friends.
