
The following information was provided by the Brown County Sheriff’s Office:
- On Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at approximately 1039 hours, Sergeant Francisco Valencia was dispatched to the Hideout Golf Club and Resort regarding Trespassing. Sergeant Valencia was informed a male subject on scene had been barred from the property and was not allowed to be there. That male was issued a Criminal Trespass Warning. A report was made.
- On 05/02/26, at approximately 1120 hours, Deputy Ethan Fox was dispatched to Cr 347, Early, Tx 76802 regarding credit card fraud. Deputy Fox spoke with Lillian McMillan, who stated someone had been using her credit card information to make purchases. Deputy Fox gathered information, and a report was made.
- On 05/02/26, at approximately 1703 hours, Deputy Ethan Fox was dispatched to Brin St, Brownwood, Tx 76801 regarding an Illegal Dumping. Deputy Fox spoke with Donna Renteria, who stated someone dumped trash and other items on her brothers property. Deputy Fox took photographs, gathered information, and a report was made.
- On Sunday, May 3, 2026, at 1143 hours, Brown County Deputy Sheriff TJ Harrell spoke with Debra Jean Mabary (W/F, D.O.B. 02/26/1956, VICTIM) regarding a scam. Mabary stated she was sent a message on Messenger, three years ago, she won the Facebook Lottery. She was instructed to send Apple gift cards in order to receive the winnings. She has sent thousands of dollars since in Apple gift cards. In the last two months, two unknown males and one unknown female have been threatening Mabary with jail time if she did not continue to send Apple gift cards. Information was gathered, and a report was generated.
- On Sunday, May 3, 2026, at 1230 hours, Brown County Deputy Sheriff TJ Harrell was dispatched to Monaghan Drive, Brown County, Texas 76801 for a Theft. Christopher Plastino said someone drove onto his property and stole his utility trailer. The trailer was described as 12’ in length, black in color, and valued at $1500.00. Information was gathered, and a report was generated.
- On 05/03/26, at approximately 1347 hours, Deputy Ethan Fox was dispatched to N US 183 Lot 7, Early, Tx 76802 regarding a Theft. Deputy Fox spoke with the complainant, Gabrianna Voss, who stated on 04/03/26, her wallet containing identifying documents, credit and debit cards, and cash were taken. Gabrianna said today, someone attempted to use her debit card to make an online purchase. Information was gathered, and a report was made.
- On Sunday, May 3, 2026, at approximately 1752 hours, Brown County Deputy Sheriff Steven Trevino was dispatched to a location on Clifden Drive, Brownwood, Texas 76801, regarding a Drugs/Narcotics call. The complainant stated they found drugs inside their residence and do not know where they came from. After a field test was conducted, it was confirmed the substance found was drugs. Information was gathered, and a report was made.
- On May 3, 2026, at 16:31, Sergeant G. Smith was assigned call #26-013312 for an aggressive dog. Sergeant Smith spoke with the victim, collecting information determining the dog to be a dangerous dog, and a report was prepared.
- On Monday, May 4, 2026, at 1145 hours, Brown County Deputy Sheriff TJ Harrell was dispatched to the 4000 block of Bounding Main Drive, Brown County, Texas 76857, for a Theft. Deputy Harrell spoke with a Harbor Point Homeowner’s Association board member, who stated someone had taken two speed bumps from the road of Bounding Main Drive. The speed bumps were valued at $800.00. Information was gathered, and a report was generated.
- On 05/05/2026, at approximately 0915 hours, Brown County Deputy Sheriff Madeline Reigle was dispatched to an address on County Road 159 in Bangs, Texas. The homeowner believes a neighbor has been trespassing on his property while on horseback. A report was made for informational purposes.
- On 05/05/2026, at approximately 1055 hours, Brown County Deputy Sheriff Madeline Reigle, was notified by dispatch of a walk-in complaint to the Law Enforcement Center of Fraud. Deputy Reigle spoke to the elderly victim, who had been scammed out of $2000. A report was made for further investigation by the Brown County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division.
- On Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at 1253 hours, Brown County Deputy Sheriff TJ Harrell spoke with Merelyn Fuentes by phone about ID theft. Fuentes explained someone has used her identity and listed her property for sale. Information was gathered, and a report was generated.
- On May 6, 2026, at 1820 hours, Deputy Hayden Donahoo was dispatched to a drugs/narcotics call at CR 347 in Brownwood, Tx 76801. Information and pictures were gathered. A report was made.
- On 05/07/26, at approximately 1206 hours, Deputy Ethan Fox was dispatched to handle a complaint of fraud. Deputy Fox spoke with Rebecca Schuett, who stated while on the phone with someone claiming to be an Amazon Prime support tech, her bank account was charged approximately $3,900. Information was gathered, and a report was made.
- On May 7, 2026, at 2236 hours, Deputy Hayden Donahoo was dispatched to a follow-up by phone in reference to Animal Cruelty. Information and pictures were gathered. A report was made.
- On 05/08/2026, at approximately 1348 hours, Brown County Deputy Sheriff Madeline Reigle was contacted by dispatch regarding a possible accident at the intersection of US 67 West and Beck Rd. No accident was found, but a phone was located in the westbound lane of traffic. The phone was collected for safekeeping and returned to the owner. This report is for informational purposes only.
- On Friday, May 8, 2026, at 1416, Brown County Deputy Sheriff TJ Harrell, along with Brown County Deputy Sheriff Madeline Reigle, were dispatched to FM 1176, Brown County, Texas 76801, for Animal Cruelty. Upon arrival, it was learned LESLIE ANN MCCARTY shot a cat because the cat was upsetting her. MCCARTY was placed into custody for Cruelty to Non-Livestock Animals. MCCARTY was transported to the Brown County Jail and released to jail staff. Information was gathered, and a report was generated.
- On Friday, May 8, 2026, at approximately 1440 hours, I, Sergeant Francisco Valencia with the Brown County Sheriff’s Office, was dispatched to a weapon offense at an address on Healer Ln, Brownwood, TX. The complainant stated her brother pulled a gun on her and shot at her. The complainant fled to a neighbor’s house to call law enforcement. Deputies were able to speak with the male suspect, and after an investigation, he was placed into custody for Aggravated Assault w/ Deadly Weapon. A report was made.
- On Saturday, May 9, 2026, at 1249 hours, Brown County Deputy Sheriff TJ Harrell was dispatched to County Road 521, Brown County, Texas 76801, for a Theft. Joseph Edward Wojick was trimming his grass with a grass trimmer. He laid the Stihl Model FS70R down and went into his residence. Upon returning a short time later, his grass trimmer was missing. Information was gathered, and a report was generated.
- On 5/9/26, at approximately 2037 hours, Deputy Hopson took an information report regarding a civil matter between neighbors in the block of CR 442. The neighbors have issues regarding their fence line.
- On 05/09/2026, at 2058 hours, Deputy Wilson took a walk-in report in reference to Theft. Natalie Beasley said Michael and Ashley Smith had stolen some of her jewelry after she had moved out of her parent’s residence. Information was obtained, and a report has been made.
- On Sunday, May 10, 2026, I, Deputy Saydie Bradley, located an Illegal Dumping on County Road 198 and HWY 67. Photos were taken, and a report was made.
- On Sunday, May 10, 2026, I, Deputy Saydie Bradley, was dispatched to Springlake West in regard to an animal complaint. Information was gathered, and a report was made.
- On Sunday, May 10, 2026, I, Deputy Saydie Bradley, responded to a call for an animal complaint. While on scene, a female subject was issued a Criminal Trespass Warning for a separate incident. A report was made.
- On 5/10/26, at approximately 1944 hours, Deputy Hopson arrived at the Law Enforcement Center for a scam call. He contacted the victims, who advised they were scammed out of $2099. The victims stated they believed they had a warrant and were paying for a bond with the money.
- On 5/11/26, at approximately 0350 hours, Deputy Hopson observed a 1996 F-150 fail to signal at CR 308 and S US 183. He initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle and contacted JOSHUA HAMLETT (W/M, 6/2/93). HAMLETT was subsequently arrested for Driving While Intoxicated.
- On 05/11/2026, Deputy John Geis was dispatched to handle a theft by phone. Deputy Geis spoke to a Kelly Timmerman, who said there was a stolen Manitou Skid Steer which has a GPS tracker on it showing at the Vickies RV Park at Vickies Park RD, Brownwood, TX 76801. Deputy Geis found and recovered the stolen Skid Steer. Information was gathered, and a report was made.
- On 05/12/2026, Deputy John Geis was dispatched to handle a theft by phone. Deputy Geis called and spoke to a Michelle Chism, who claimed BLAIN, RICHARD had used her EBT card without permission and picked up groceries purchased by Michelle without her permission. Information was gathered, and a report was made.
- On May 12, 2026, at approximately 1451 hours, Deputy Sanchez was dispatched to CR 426 in reference to a scam. Deputy Sanchez spoke with Tricia Dawn Fleming (Victim), who stated she received a call at 1111 hours from 661-933-2159, who left a voice mail stating they were from Amazon and need to authorize a payment for an Apple MacBook Pro. Information was taken, and report was made.
- On 05/12/26, at approximately 1645 hours, Deputy Ethan Fox was dispatched to handle a walk-in complaint of scam. Deputy Fox spoke with Fred Schultz, who stated he was contacted by someone claiming to work for the Brown County Sheriff’s Office. Fred said he made two payments by bitcoin for warrants. Information was gathered, and a report was made.
- On Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at 1439 hours, Brown County Deputy Sheriff TJ Harrell was dispatched to the Brown County Law Enforcement Center to speak with Thomas David McClanahan about a scam. McClanahan transferred a large amount of money to someone claiming to be with the FDIC. Information was gathered, and a report was generated.
- On Wednesday, May 13, 2026, I, Deputy Saydie Bradley, was dispatched to Briarcrest regarding an Animal Complaint. Information was gathered, and a report was made.
- On 05/14/2026, at approximately 1318 hours, Brown County Deputy Sheriff Madeline Reigle was contacted by dispatch regarding a Suspicious call. Deputy Reigle spoke to the complainant, who stated she found a deceased cat on her porch the day prior which had been “field-dressed” and decapitated. The caller’s husband had already disposed of the cat, believing it had been killed by other animal. This is not the first deceased cat the caller had found on her property. An informational report was completed.
- On Thursday, May 14, 2026, at 1411 hours, Brown County Deputy TJ Harrell was dispatched to Bayside Drive, Brown County, Texas 76857 for a Theft. Ronald Whitaker explained sometime between 05/11/2026 and 1500 on 5/13/2026, someone stole a 20’ 50-amp electrical cord from his camper located at Lakeshore Drive, Brown County, Texas 76857. Information was gathered, and a report was generated.
- On Thursday, 05/14/2026, at about 1715 hours, Deputy Chris Williamson was dispatched to a loose livestock call located at Tripe K Lane, Brownwood, TX. Marissa Dawn Gober stated she arrived home, sometime after 1600 hours, to find what she described as a black Spanish goat walking around her property. Attempts were made to locate an owner. The goat will be placed in the Brown County Law Enforcement Center livestock area for safekeeping.
- On 5/15/26, at approximately 0018 hours, Deputy Hopson observed a 2005 Cadillac with a defective license plate light. A traffic stop was initiated on the vehicle on Early Blvd/Northline Dr. Deputy Hopson contacted ERICKA PATTERSON (W/F, 9/23/91). PATTERSON was subsequently arrested for Driving While Intoxicated with BAC >0.15.
