The Brownwood Lions baseball team dropped game 2 against Abilene Wylie in the Region 1-3A Quarterfinals Saturday afternoon ending their season. Although Lions Dillon Ellis, Graylon Brown, and Patrick Espinosa each hit home runs early in the game, Wylie was able to move ahead winning the game 13-5.
Wylie scored 8 runs on 5 hits in the 6th inning alone powering ahead and moving too far out of reach for the Lions to recover.
Head Coach Jeremy Smith said, “I am proud of the kids, they have done everything I asked of them all season.”
The District 2-3A District Champion Lions finish the season with a record of 21-10-1.
Abilene Wylie will move on to face Burnet in the Semifinal round next weekend.
