As National Travel and Tourism Week unfolds from May 3-9, 2026, Visit Early is excited to celebrate the vital role travel plays in our community and economy. This year’s theme, “Postmarked: Essential,” emphasizes that travel is a foundational pillar of growth, leaving a lasting impact on local economies and cultures across the nation.

In the past year, Visit Early has proudly sponsored and marketed 80 events, showcasing the vibrant spirit of our city. Notably, we brought Major League Fishing back to Early earlier this year, marking only the second professional sporting event held in Brown County. This event garnered 36 hours of live coverage on MLFNOW, with a re-air on national television scheduled for September, providing invaluable exposure for our community.

Additionally, Early was the host city for the grand opening of the Penatuhkah Comanche Trails, welcoming leaders and elders from the Comanche Nation and our neighboring communities that are part of the trail. This cultural milestone highlights our commitment to celebrating diverse histories and fostering connections with the Comanche Nation, neighboring communities and as well as our own community.

Travel has played a part in Early’s growth, contributing $21 million in direct travel spending, supporting 160 jobs, and generating $1.8 million in local and state tax revenue according to Travel Texas Dashboard. National Travel and Tourism Week allows us to recognize and celebrate the businesses and individuals who make our community an attractive destination for visitors and event organizers alike.

Looking ahead, Early will host the Texas Teenage Baseball U8 State Tournament in July, expecting over 20 teams to compete and the Southwest Amputee Regional Golf Championship in September. These events will not only bring families and athletes to our city but will also contribute to the local economy.
