Caren Jean Windham, 66, of Brownwood, passed away on April 23, 2026, at her home, surrounded by loved ones. She was born on December 23, 1959, in Odessa to Oliver Eugene Windham and Ola Mae Mann Windham.
Caren was a kind and loving woman with a generous heart. Over the years, she held various jobs, but her favorite was driving a big rig—work she truly enjoyed. She deeply loved her family and friends, who meant everything to her. During her illness, she was especially grateful for the care and support of those who stayed close, including a dear friend who checked on her often. Her family remained by her side, and her great-nephew, Bryson Powell, held a special place in her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Oliver and Ola Mae Mann Pate Windham; her brother, David Wayne Windham; and her sister, Anna (Kathy) Kathern Windham Powell Carter Richards.
Caren is survived by her sisters, Sue Purcell and husband Jerry, along with their two children; and Neva Christner, along with her three children and thirteen grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Johnny Windham and wife Brenda, along with their four children and eleven grandchildren. Additionally, she is survived by her late sister Kathy’s children, Dennis Carter and wife Gena, along with their daughter, Anna Jeanette Gomez, her two children, and nine grandchildren. She is also survived by her late brother David’s children, Teressa Norie Craig and her two children and three grandchildren, and Jolynn Smith and her daughter.
A Celebration of Life for Caren will be held on May 2, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Blaylock Funeral Home Chapel in Brownwood.
