May, Blanket, Cross Plains, Rising Star, Sidney and Santa Anna combine for 79 regional track berths

DUBLIN – The District 20-A/21-A area track and field meet took place Monday, where May, Blanket, Cross Plains, Rising Star, Sidney and Santa Anna combined to earn 79 berths in the Region III-A meet at Waco Midway High School on May 1-2.

Cross Plains won both the boys and girls team titles, with 172 and 117 points respectively, while the May Lady Tigers (93) placed second on the girls side and the Blanket Tigers (87) came in second on the boys side. The May boys placed fifth overall with 74 points, and the Blanket girls came in 11th place with 15 points.

The top four finishers in each event move on to regionals, and local results are as follows:

May – (16 berths)

1st place

  • Lauren Hicks in the girls long jump (17-0.5)
  • Lauren Hicks in the girls 100 meters (13.03)
  • Kobey Morris in the boys discus (144-0)
  • Kobey Morris in the boys long jump (20-8)

2nd place
