Thirty-five Brownwood High School AVID students volunteered at East Elementary’s Fall Festival on Friday, October 21st.

AVID stands for Advancement Via Individual Determination. AVID students volunteer at different events throughout the year to earn service hours that can be included on college admissions and scholarship applications. “These students worked at most of the game stations during the festival,” stated BHS AVID Coordinator, Joey Wilbourn.

“They helped serve food, and cleaned up after the Festival. AVID student, Jasmine Sotelo-Lambert, came in her Lion Mascot costume to take pictures with the children and it was a big hit.”
