Early High School One Act Play wins area competition, advances to regionals

Early High School’s One Act play, scenes from “They Promised Her the Moon” by Laurel Ollstein, came home from the Area 2, Region 1-3A contest with a first place win this past Saturday, April 11. The play, directed by Caitlyn Tidwell and Sidney Sizemore, now advances to the Region contest on Thursday, April 23, at Clyde High School.  This win places Early among the top 24  3A One Act plays in the state, with the Region contest being the next step toward competition at the UIL State meet in May.  The other two schools advancing in the contest were Clyde High School and Sweetwater High School.

Awards won by the Early Longhorn Theatre Company were:

Best Stage Crew:
Ellie Glasscock, Crew Chief/ Sound Technician; Katelyn Vera, Stage Manager, Isabella Attaway, Assistant Stage Manager; Dawson Jones, Lighting Technician
Best Lighting Technician:  Dawson Jones
Honorable Mention All Star Cast:  Tristyn Yeats;  Tanner Gammon
All Star Cast:  Molly Claborn; Brooke Baker
Best Performer:  Emma Blanton
