Early voting in the 2016 General Election wraps up this week, with polls open Thursday, November 3rd through Friday, November 4th from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.  Registered voters are reminded to cast their ballots in the presidential and other important elections this year. Over 30% of the registered voters in Brown County have already voted.

The ten-day total for early voting in Brown County reports 7,279 ballots cast. The heated Presidential race has brought a slight surge of early voters casting their ballots, with a 13% increase over the 2012 Election. The majority of voters turned out in the first week of early voting, according to Assistant Elections Administrator, Larry Franks.

“If we could meet the 10,000 mark in early voting, that would really be exciting,” said Franks in an earlier interview.

Early voting for Brown County is being held at Adams Street Community Center, located at 511 E. Adams Street in Brownwood.

Ballots may be cast on Election Day, Tuesday, November 8th from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.
