Brownwood ISD issued the following press release Monday afternoon:

This month’s spotlight teacher is Zoe Moss. Ms. Moss is a fourth-grade teacher at Northwest Elementary. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and a Bachelor of Arts in Christian Education from Howard Payne University and is a state-certified teacher (Mathematics 4-8, Core Subjects EC-6, and ESL Supplemental EC-8). This is her second year with Brownwood ISD.

As a 4th grade math teacher, Ms. Moss has already made a powerful impact on student learning and teamwork. She excels at analyzing student data and using it to intentionally drive instruction, ensuring every student receives the support they need to grow. She frequently consults with colleagues to address student behavior in ways that strengthen learning and create a positive classroom environment. She is always exploring new strategies to reach students instructionally, as well as behaviorally. Her dedication extends beyond campus, as she connects with educators outside of the district to discover the newest and most effective practices. No matter what challenges arise, she approaches them with positivity, flexibility, and a strong commitment to continuous improvement, making her an invaluable member of the Northwest team.

Brownwood ISD is grateful to have teachers like Ms. Moss who consistently raise the bar through innovation and collaboration to ensure every child feels supported and inspired to succeed.

Our staff spotlight honoree for the month is Elvin Rogers. Mr. Rogers is bus driver for Brownwood ISD. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in General Studies from West Texas A&M, and following his discharge from the Army, became a part-time flight instructor at Tradewind Airport in Amarillo while working full-time at Bell Helicopter. In addition, Mr. Rogers has also worked in the alcohol and drug treatment field as a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC). He currently holds his CDL and is in his second year with Brownwood ISD.

Mr. Rogers is held in high regard by his peers, who consider it a privilege to work alongside him. He brings a level of dependability that gives everyone around him confidence and peace of mind. As a bus driver, he is often the first and last school connection students have each day, and he makes them count. He treats every student with kindness and respect, and it shows. He is truly loved by staff, students, and the families he serves. He doesn’t just do his job; he makes a difference.

Brownwood ISD is proud to have dependable staff members like Mr. Rogers who who provide a steady source of kindness and transform daily routines into meaningful moments of connection and care for our students.
