
The April 2026 sales tax allocations are higher than April 2025 in Brownwood and Early, according to data released this week by the Texas Comptroller’s Office. Early led the way with a large increase of over 50%. The sales tax allocation for Bangs is even with April 2025. The April sales tax allocations reflect taxable retail sales in February 2026. BROWNWOOD
The City of Brownwood received $550,375, an increase of 5.51% over April 2025. Fiscal year-to-date (October 2025 through April 2026) Brownwood has received $4,404,973, an increase of 2.67% over the previous fiscal year-to-date.
The Brownwood Municipal Development District received $180,898, an increase of 9.45% over April 2025. Fiscal year-to-date the Brownwood MDD has received $1,434,431, up 2.78% over the previous fiscal year-to-date.
EARLY
The City of Early received $261,528, an increase of 58.96% over April 2025. Fiscal year-to-date Early has received $1,558,314, an increase of 18.85% over the previous fiscal year-to-date.
The Early Municipal Development District received $87,750, an increase of 62.37% over April 2025. Fiscal year-to-date the Early MDD has received $514,501, up 19.65% over the previous fiscal year-to-date.
BANGS
The City of Bangs received $21,316, virtually even with April 2025 ($21,323). Fiscal year-to-date Bangs has received $187,327, an increase of 10.46% over the previous fiscal year-to-date.
The Bangs Municipal Development District received $3,873, an increase of 20.58% over April 2025. Fiscal year-to-date the Bangs MDD has received $25,614, up 8.44% over the previous fiscal year-to-date.
