Fourteen Brookesmith ISD students  (12 boys, 2 girls) participated in the Texas High School Welding Series Event Friday at the Texas State Technical College campus in Brownwood, led by Ag-Mechanics teacher Greg Owen.  These are industry-driven, certification events designed to acclimate high-school students to the pressures and expectations of future employers. These events present students with the opportunity to:

• Demonstrate their skills in a real-world simulated environment.
• Interpret and apply welding techniques from industry professionals.
• Advance their knowledge of welding safety, processes, and procedures.
• Recognize professional organizations like American Welding Society,
• Evaluate opportunities for employment that lead to career success.
• Earn industry-recognized welding certifications.
• Gain exposure to future Employers
• Develop their true potential for personal growth, leadership, and success
