HunterBoGeorge H. (Bo) Hunter, 80, of Brownwood, went to be with the Lord Friday, October 28, 2016, at Brownwood Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be Thursday, November 3, 2016, at 3:00 PM at Early First Baptist Church under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home of Early. Burial will follow at Mukewater Cemetery.   Bo’s family will receive friends 6:00 until 8:00 PM Wednesday at Heartland Funeral Home.

Bo was born October 31, 1935, in Cross Cut, Texas, to Bill Hunter and Edna Mae Gould Hunter. He grew up in the Mukewater/Concord communities, plowing, working, farming cotton and swimming in the creek. He had many adventures on the Sheffield Mountain with his brothers Claud and Charlie.  He graduated from Bangs High School and worked all over west Texas in the oilfield. He went on to spend more than 50 years in the service station business. Mechanic work, oil changes, gasoline, and big hugs were his gift to all who came in. On October 1, he celebrated 51 years of marriage to the love of his life, Linda Coker. They were members of Faith Baptist Church, Brownwood, where he devoted many years to the children’s bus ministry. Along with time and much love, Bo generously gave of his resources, especially lots of bubble gum, to all the kids who came through his gas station. Some of the things Bo loved include – God, family, country music, instruments, the Bible, western movies, vanilla milkshakes, country drives, chicken fried steak, football, a good fitting boot, Mimmie’s coconut pies, unsweet tea and Levi Garrett.

Along with his wife, Linda, he is survived by three children, Jodie Armstrong and husband, Don; George Hunter; John Hunter and wife, Lisa; one brother, Charlie Hunter and wife, Carol; one sister, Billie Brown and husband, Charles; four grandchildren, Ashley Nosek and husband, Chris; Haley Coulter; Kelcie Lloyd and husband, Adam; Bo Hunter and Tyler Coulter; six great-grandchildren, Kearston, Joie, Noah, Makenzie, Madison and Connor; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and other family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Claud, and grandson-in-law, Joey Hyden.

Online condolences may be left for the family at www.heartlandfuneralhomenet.
