Bangs Roy Duron places sixth at state powerlifting meet

ABILENE – Bangs Dragon Roy Duron placed sixth in the 220-pound weight class in the Class 2A division of the Texas High School Powerlifting Association state meet here Friday.

Duron, the regional champion, lifted a total of 1,510 pounds – 590 in the squat, 405 in the bench press and 515 in the deadlift.

The state champion in the 220s – Bo Pollard of Garrison – lifted 1,855 pounds.

To reach state, Duron lifted 1,490 pounds at regionals – 505 in the squat, 385 in the bench press, and 600 in the deadlift.
