Kay Denise Dela Rosa

Kay Denise Dela Rosa, a cherished member of the Coleman community, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at her residence in Coleman, Texas, surrounded by her loving family. Born on August 11, 1963, in Santa Anna, Texas, Kay grew up in Coleman, where she cultivated deep roots and lifelong friendships.

A graduate of Coleman High School in 1981, Kay’s life was marked by a dedication to her work and her community. Her career journey included meaningful contributions at Sports Delight, Brownwood I.S.D., and Citizens Bank in Brownwood. In each role, she found joy not only in her responsibilities but also in the lasting friendships she forged along the way.

Known for her loving and outgoing personality, Kay was often called the “voice of West Texas” by her father, reflecting her natural ability to connect and talk with people from all walks of life. She was truly one special lady who loved everyone she met. Kay’s warmth extended to her hobbies and passions, she enjoyed cooking and gardening and was pursuing culinary classes to become a chef, delighting in the joy of feeding her family and friends.

Her spiritual life was a cornerstone of her identity. A devoted member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Coleman, Kay’s faith was a source of strength and comfort throughout her life.

Kay is survived by her loving parents, Samuel and Gabriela Dela Rosa; her two children, Mario Hernandez, Jr., and Alexandria Denise Sanchez; and her beloved grandchild, Isabella Kate Nowell. She will also be remembered fondly by her siblings: Mark Allen Dela Rosa, Albert Samuel Dela Rosa, and Michelle Ann Dela Rosa. In addition to her immediate family, Kay leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews who cherish her memory.

Recital of the Holy Rosary will be at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, March 19, 2026, at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, 400 W. Pecan Street, in Coleman. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 20, 2026, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 303 E. College Avenue, in Coleman. Interment will follow in the Coleman City Cemetery. Services are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home in Coleman.

Pallbearers will be Albert Dela Rosa, Benny Mendoza, Ricky Mendoza, Matthew Guerrero, Charlie Villegas, and Mario Hernandez, Jr.

Kay Denise Dela Rosa’s kindness, spirit, and dedication touched many lives, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, friendship, and community engagement that will continue to inspire and uplift those who were fortunate to know her.
