
The sales taxes received this month in all three cities in Brown County were lower than March 2025. This information is according to the sales tax data released this week by the Texas Comptroller’s Office. March sales tax allocations reflect taxable retail sales in January 2026. Details below:
BROWNWOOD
The City of Brownwood received $538,487, down 1.73% compared to March 2025. Fiscal year-to-date (October 2025 through March 2026), Brownwood has received $3,854,598, an increase of 2.28% over the previous fiscal year-to-date.
The Brownwood Municipal Development District received $178,762, up 0.35% over March 2025. Fiscal year-to-date the Brownwood MDD has received $1,253,533, an increase of 1.89% over the previous fiscal year-to-date.
EARLY
The City of Early received $185,446, a decrease of 2.80% compared to March 2025. Fiscal year-to-date Early has received $1,296,786, an increase of 13.10% over the previous fiscal year-to-date.
The Early Municipal Development District received $61,325, down 2.68% compared to March 2025. Fiscal year-to-date the Early MDD has received $426,751, an increase of 13.51% over the previous fiscal year-to-date.
BANGS
The City of Bangs received $17,803, a decrease of 14.67% from March 2025. Fiscal year-to-date Bangs has received $166,011, an increase of 11.97% over the previous fiscal year-to-date.
The Bangs Municipal Development District received $3,231, an increase of 7.74% over March 2025. Fiscal year-to-date the Bangs MDD has received $21,741, up 6.53% over the previous fiscal year-to-date.
