Esmeralda Lares Ibarra, age 21, of Early, passed away on Sunday, October 2, 2016, in Scott & White Hospital in Temple after a long battle with brain cancer.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 5th in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Memorial Park.

She was born in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico, on November 1, 1994.  Esmeralda attended Brownwood schools and graduated from Brownwood High School in the Class of 2014.

Survivors include her parents, Julio and Angelica Lares; a sister, Dariela Lares; a brother, Julian Lares; grandparents Fransico and Teofilla Lares; and aunt, Idalia Ibarra.
