ALBANY – The Early Longhorns baseball team opened the Albany tournament Thursday with a second consecutive victory, 10-1 over the Brady Bulldogs.

Leading 2-1 going to the bottom of the fourth inning, Early struck for eight runs to put the game away.

The Longhorns recorded five walks, were aided by three Brady errors, and chalked up nine hits – two by Hunter McCullough and one apiece by Brayden Moya, Jack Nowell, Ben Wilson, Chris Ivy, Will Speck, Brennan Rasor and Angel Marquez. Speck’s three RBIs were a team-high trailed by two each from Ivy and Marquez and one apiece from Nowell and Jaxson Stockman.

On the mound for the Longhorns, Ivy went the distance as he pitched four innings and surrendered one unearned run on three hits with nine strikeouts and one walk. The Early defense committed one error behind him.

Early (3-8) will next face Cisco at 1 p.m. Friday as the tournament continues.
