Below are the fishing reports for area lakes, compiled as reported this week by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.

Lake Brownwood

Water stained; 85–89 degrees; 1.10’ low. Black bass are fair on green pumpkin Grande Bass soft plastics, and on crankbaits and topwaters early and late. Hybrid striper are slow. White bass are very good on minnows, spinnerbaits, and Rat–L–Traps under lights at night. Crappie are fair on minnows over brush piles under lights at night in 5–18 feet. Channel catfish are slow. Yellow catfish are fair on live bait.

Lake Coleman

Water stained; 86–90 degrees; 1.04’ low. Black bass are fair on chartreuse spinnerbaits and crankbaits. Hybrid striper are fair on chartreuse striper jigs. Crappie are fair on minnows. Channel catfish are good on liver and minnows. Yellow catfish are slow.

O.H. Ivie Reservoir

Water stained; 86–90 degrees; 36.11’ low. Black bass are fair to good on Zara Spooks early, midday switching to Carolina rigs, Texas rigs, drop shot rigs and jigs. Crappie are fair to good on minnows and jigs. Catfish are fair to good on live bait.

Lake Proctor

Water stained; 85–89 degrees; 0.99’ low. Black bass are good on watermelon topwaters and Rat–L–Traps. Striped bass are slow. White bass are good on Li’l Fishies and minnows. Crappie are good on live minnows and white tube jigs. Channel and blue catfish are fair on stinkbait and shrimp. Yellow catfish are slow.
