Joe Edward “Double” Blair, 74, of Brownwood, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on February 4, 1952, in Denver City, Texas, to Emler Joe and Katherine Loving Blair.
Joe, affectionately known as “Double,” graduated from Brownwood High School and went on to serve his community with dedication and heart. He was an original member of the Lake Brownwood Fire Department, where he also faithfully served as Chaplain, offering strength and encouragement to his fellow firefighters. Joe devoted many years of service to Brownwood ISD, touching countless lives through his work.
A devoted Christian, Joe lived his faith daily through kindness, compassion, and service to others. He was also a loyal fan of the Denver Broncos and rarely missed a chance to cheer on his favorite team.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Mary Jo Deaver.
He leaves behind two brothers, Robert Blair and wife Tawn of May, Texas, and Bo Blair of Lake Brownwood; his nieces, Crystal Blair, Rhonda Blair, and Melissa Cook; along with numerous other relatives and a host of dear friends who will cherish his memory.
Joe will be remembered for his servant’s heart, steadfast faith, and the love he shared with his family and community.
A come and go Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, March 14, 2026 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at Blaylock Funeral Home in Brownwood.
