Pink-Out2016Shirt

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Brownwood Independent School District (BISD) is supporting this cause once again this year by designating Friday, October 7, as “Pink-Out” day.  Faculty, staff, and students within the district will be seen wearing their pink-out shirts throughout the day to increase awareness and raise money for those currently fighting cancer.

BISD is encouraging employees, students, parents, and community members to consider purchasing this year’s pink-out t-shirt designed specifically for the event and wear it to school or work and to the Brownwood Lions vs. Abilene/Wylie Bulldogs football game later that evening. The football game begins at 7:30 p.m., and the BHS Lions football players, as well as all extracurricular groups (drill team, cheerleaders, Lion Crew, band, etc.) will be sporting pink on their uniforms.

This year’s t-shirt features design concepts created by BISD students and is available by pre-order only.  Order forms can be found online at www.brownwoodisd.org/pinkout and can also be filled out at the BISD Central Office at 2707 Southside Drive, or at any BISD campus.

The cost per t-shirt is $10 for all sizes youth through adult XL, and $12 for 2X, 3X, and 4X.  All orders must be made by Wednesday, September 21st at 4:00 p.m.

This is the 5th year for the “Pink-Out” the fundraiser, which raised a profit of over $13,000 last year, with a large $5000 donation from Big Country Ford revealed at the game.

The fundraiser has grown every year and continues to raise more each year due to the incredible support by students, staff, teachers, and the community. BISD hopes to continue the success of the fundraising effort which has helped several individuals within the district battling cancer.
