Hanah Campos (2) recorded a triple for Brownwood (8-4), which returns to the diamond Thursday as it begins play in the three-day Llano tournament

SAN ANGELO – The Brownwood Lady Lions softball team was dealt a third consecutive defeat Tuesday night, falling at Class 6A San Angelo Central by a 10-0 count.

After averaging 8.3 runs per game during an eight-game win streak, the Lady Lions have been limited to a total of eight runs over their last three outings.

Against Central, the Lady Lions mustered only two hits off Aubrey Garcia – a triple by Hanah Campos and a double by Kaydence Allen. Amarrea Thomas drew a pair of walks, Brenda Allen walked once and Kaydence Allen also reached on an error to account for Brownwood’s base runners.

In the circle for the Lady Lions, Kaydence Allen tossed 4.2 innings and yielded seven earned runs on eight hits with eight strikeouts and four walks. Brownwood’s defense was credited with three errors.

Central (5-5) scored three runs each in the bottom of the first and fourth innings, and ended the game early with a four-spot in the fifth. KK Saldivar led the way with a single, a double and four RBIs.

The Lady Lions (8-4) will return to the diamond Thursday as they begin play in the three-day Llano tournament.
