Jerry Glenn Baker, age 72, of Brownwood walked into heaven’s gates on February 11, 2026. Graveside services will be held at 10 AM, Wednesday, February 18th at the Santa Anna Cemetery Pavilion under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home in Early.

He was born on August 11, 1953, in Coleman, TX, the son of the late Lucy and Floyd Baker. When he was 18 years old, he experienced a tragic accident that left him requiring a wheelchair for the rest of his life. Despite facing daily physical challenges, Jerry did not let this stop him from living an adventurous life. Jerry spent his best days outdoors either hunting, fishing or just enjoying the beauty of nature with his cousin, Marty Baker. All that knew and loved him would agree that he was a hoot to be around.

Over the years Jerry had many caregivers/nurses that helped him live life to the fullest. Niki Kingery, Beckie Ehlers, Kathy Payne, Margie McMillian and Vanessa Lopez, your care, love, kindness, selflessness and friendship helped him to remain at home where he was happiest. Words can never describe how much of a blessing you have been to Jerry and the family. “For God is not unjust so as to forget your work and the love which you have shown toward His name, in having ministered and in still ministering to the saints” (Hebrews 6:10)

He is survived by his nephews, David Schiff of Rising Star and Kevin Baker of Brownwood; numerus great nieces and nephews, cousins; and friend of over 17 years, Niki Kingery.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Lucy and Floyd Baker and his brother, Bill Baker.

The family would like to thank CMS Kinder Hearts Home Health & Kinder Hearts Hospice for your love and kindness.

Online condolences, memories and tributes can be made to the family at www.heartlandfuneralhome.net
