It is with profound sadness and a celebration of a life beautifully lived that we announce the passing of Tressie Elizabeth Clawson, who departed this life on February 10, 2026 at the age of 56. Tressie passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Throughout life’s journey, Tressie demonstrated incredible resilience. She took great pride in overcoming addiction, and in her final years, she found lasting sobriety and a deep, transformative peace in her relationship with Jesus Christ. Her life became a powerful testament to the beauty of redemption and the strength of faith.
Above all else, family was Tressie’s greatest treasure. She had an extraordinary love for her husband Chris, and together they enjoyed true companionship that is central to their life’s greatest joy. Chris’ unwaivering devotion served as her greatest support and comfort during their years together. Tressie was a devoted mother, sister, and daughter, and her heart especially adored her grandchildren. She cherished every moment spent with each of her family, whether it was in person, on facetime calls with family in Spain, or making special trips to Nevada. Tressie took immense joy in being affectionately known to her grandkids as Ladybug. To her grandchildren, Ladybug was a source of endless fun, warmth, and unconditional love.
Tressie will be remembered for her beautiful smile and a contageous laugh that could light up any room. She had a rare gift for finding the fun in every situation and lived her life with a vibrancy that drew others to her. Even in her final years, her spirit remained joyful, and she never missed an opportunity to share a laugh with those she loved.
She is survived by her husband Chris Clawson of Brownwood, her two sons Tyler Greenhaw and daughter-in-love Amy of Bridgeport, Tx (children Kenzie, Emma, Brooklyn) and Evan Chambers and daughter-in-love Hanna of Brownwood (children Zayler, Hazel, Flint); parents Rowland and Evy Winn of Brownwood, brothers Rex Winn and sister-in-love Gema of Malaga, Spain (children Evelyn, Oliver), and Frank Winn and sister-in-love Crystal of Brownwood (children Paul, Carrigan); daughter Nikki Clawson and son-in-love Kolt of Spring Creek, Nevada (children Cree, Wylder) and son Chase Clawson of Elko, Nevada.
Though she is no longer with us, we take comfort in knowing she is at peace, free from pain, and resting in the arms of her Savior. Her laughter will echo in our hearts forever.
A celebration of Tressie’s life will be held at a later date in a private gathering with family.
