Kimberly Britton

Kimberly Britton was born and raised in Brownwood, Texas. She began her education at Coggin Elementary and later graduated from Brownwood High School. An avid lover of sports, she spent her youth playing division league softball, along with basketball and volleyball during her school years.

Kimberly is the daughter of Edward and Dorothy Robinson and is blessed with three living siblings: Kenneth (Ken) Randle, Dr. Edward (Big) Randle, and Damian Robinson. She lovingly honors the memory of her brothers, Edwin Randle and Michael Robinson, who have gone home to be with the Lord. She is the proud mother of two children, Ashton and Ashley Randle, and the joyful grandmother of three grandchildren, with another on the way.

For the past sixteen years, Kimberly has dedicated her career to serving adults with developmental disabilities at the Aldersgate Enrichment Center, where she currently serves as Operations Manager. Her role carries a wide range of responsibilities, all of which she approaches with commitment, compassion, and excellence.

Outside of work, Kimberly enjoys relaxing, cooking, reading, and spending time in personal reflection. She is a devoted member of A Breath of Praise Community Church under the leadership of Pastor Eric Jordan. Her service includes leading the Chat & Chew Women’s Fellowship Group, serving as a praise and worship leader, participating on the Leadership Team, and engaging in community outreach wherever there is a need. Her heart for ministry is rooted in her deep love for God and people.

Kimberly’s life is a testimony of God’s grace. After experiencing many challenges and unexpected turns, she gratefully celebrates over seventeen years since giving her life to Jesus Christ — a decision that transformed her path and purpose. Two scriptures that anchor her daily walk are Psalm 121:1–2 and Galatians 6:9, both of which continue to strengthen and guide her.

Answering God’s call to serve in a deeper way, Kimberly is currently pursuing a degree in Biblical Counseling at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and is on track to graduate on May 1, 2026.

Kimberly joyfully shares her life with her husband of thirteen years, William Britton. Together, they are committed to building God’s Kingdom by serving Christ and serving people.

This year marks the 100th Anniversary of Black History Month and Revitalizing Our Community (ROC) will be spotlighting amazing African Americans, who have made contributions to the community of Brownwood and Brown County.  Black History Month was created in 1926 in the United States, when historian Carter G. Woodson and the Association for the Study of Negro Life and History (ASNLH) announced the second week of February to be “Negro History Week”. This week was chosen because it coincided with the birthday of Abraham Lincoln on February 12 and that of Frederick Douglass on February 14, both of which Black communities had celebrated since the late 19th century

Black educators and Black United Students at Kent State University first proposed Black History Month in February 1969. The first celebration of Black History Month took place at Kent State a year later, from January 2 to February 28, 1970.

Six years later, Black History Month was being celebrated all across the country in educational institutions, when President Gerald Ford recognized Black History Month in 1976, during the celebration of the United States Bicentennial. He urged Americans to “seize the opportunity to honor the too-often neglected accomplishments of Black Americans in every area of endeavor throughout our history.”
