browncountyhealthcenterThe Brownwood/Brown County Health Department announces that there will be extended hours in the Immunization Clinic each week beginning on Wednesday. The extended hours clinic will be open from 7:30 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. each Wednesday beginning August 24, 2016.

The health department wants to offer this service to the residents of the Brown County area who are not able to come in for immunizations during regular hours because of work or other time constraints.  The clinic on Wednesday does not require an appointment. People coming in for immunizations do need to bring their vaccine record and insurance information.

The health department is now able to accept debit, credit and health benefit cards.  The health department is not yet able to file private insurance, but can file children’s Medicaid and CHIP. Parents will need to bring their child’s Medicaid or CHIP card.

The health department immunization clinic will continue to hold regular hours on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. The clinic hours on those days are 8:00 – 11:30 am. and 1:00 – 4:30 p.m.

Area residents can call the health department at 325-646-0554 for answers to questions about immunizations or other health department services.
