Family:
My wife Lola and I live in the community of May. Between the two of us we have fours daughter, two of which live in May also, and ten grandchildren.
Why running:
I’ve been continually interested and involved in representing and working for the people of Pct2, its local communities, as well as Brown County as a whole. I, like many others, have generations of family and friends that we work to provide a safe and sustainable place to work and live. We will have, after this next election, several newly elected officials that will be looking to us for guidance as they get started in their new roles. I believe it is my duty to lend my experience to help.
Qualifications:
I have a background in business, construction, and management. As a senior member of the commissioners court, I have also served many years as Judge Pro Tem, currently acting in that capacity in the absence of a County Judge.
I’ve served through nineteen budget cycles.
Serve as chair of the ambulance oversight committee.
I’m committed to bringing a commonsense approach to all things. In the past I had served approximately ten years on the May School board.
Served as the fire chief in May in the past.
Served as operator for the May water supply, where I still volunteer now when needed.
What future changes:
We are currently getting nearer to the completion of FEMA granted road repairs in the northern part of the county. When complete we can again spend more time and resources throughout the rest of the precinct.
We are in the process of a major upgrade and transfer to a new software provider for the county offices.
We are currently planning how to best utilize the newly purchased building for county offices and services for the employees and public.
We are also working with emergency management to upgrade and improve alert systems and readiness.
I would like to continue with these and follow through till completion.
