Brownwood (24-4, 4-1) will next play at 5:45 p.m. Wednesday at Mineral Wells to start the second half of District 6-4A action

Despite a three-point home loss to No. 3 Brock this past Thursday, the Brownwood Lady Lions maintained their No. 8 ranking in Class 4A girls basketball by the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches.

The Jan. 26 poll finds Brownwood (24-4, 4-1) – which will next play at 5:45 p.m. Wednesday at Mineral Wells to start the second half of District 6-4A action – trails only No. 1 Decatur, No. 2 Canyon, No. 3 Brock, No. 4 Sunnyvale, No. 5 Dallas Lincoln, No. 6 Bridge City and No. 7 Waco La Vega in the state rankings.

For the fourth week in a row in the TABC Class A boys rankings, May (16-8) appears at No. 17 while Zephyr (19-6) comes in at No. 25.

And in the TABC Class A girls rankings, May (22-7) moved up one spot to No. 22 this week.
